While the Taiwanese boba and snack chain seems to have opened up everywhere there's the slightest concentration of Chinese residents, for some reason they've been absent from the heart of Chinatown--until now. Last weekend they opened up on the corner of Kearny and Jackson, at what I like to call the "DPD" corner for three prior restaurants that all had those letters in their name at that location. This Quickly is a little different in that the emphasis is heavily on the food, and not the drinks. Indeed, if you approach the store from the Jackson side, the signage says Kobe Bento, not Quickly. It does say Quickly on the front entrance though. They have egg puffs, a large variety of bento bowls, and bento boxes, octopus balls, fried hot dog stubs, plus the regular fish balls, popcorn chicken, etc. With popcorn chicken on the menu, can we now say you can get Taiwanese food in Chinatown? Street address is 901 Kearny.
