I was gifted a slow cooker about a year ago (friend got a new one and I got the old one). I haven't used it much, but I'm interested in using it more. I've made a couple of recipes from The Healthy Slow Cooker by Judith Findlayson. There are several recipes in there that I'd like to make, but for 4 servings instead of 8. Are there any tips/tricks associated with halving these recipes? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but we were not a Crock-Pot family growing up, so I'm a tad unsure. Also, some recipes call for a large slow cooker (>= 5 quarts). Mine in a small one (3.5 qts). Can I halve these recipes as well, just so the ingredients fit into the ceramic insert? TIA.
