Anyone who was brave enough to go into the old Brinkley's will be shocked at the interior of this new British pub. it's really spiffy inside with many great design choices. Also, I was surprised when I opened the door to see so many people inside. From the outside it looked like it would be deserted.
As for the food, I don't think there will be any surprises here. It is straightforward pub food, cheap enough, and it is ok for what it is; it will not incite passion of any kind.
We had the fish butty (fish on a very nice bun with chips) and a scotch egg salad (sausage cups cradling a hard-boiled egg). The chips could have been fresher, hotter.
