Went to the Park Slope Chip Shop on Tuesday. It was 8:30 and the place was packed. As we waited for a they lost power 3 times. All good though because the food was GREAT!!! We started with a salad with Granny Smith Apples, walnuts and stilton. Perfect! My husband and I both had the cod and chips. I wish one of us got something different, but I wasn't about to and neither was he. Despite how busy they were and only two waitstaff, we did not wait too long for our food (I was worried about that). The cod was superb. And I quote my husband, "the fish is very light and yummy." And he was right on. The batter was not at all greasy and very light. The fish was moist and tender. The sauce on the side was also very good. And man those chips. PERFECT!! Not at all greasy, crunchy, but not dry. I think these are the best chips I have ever had. I had the lemon soda which was refreshing and my husband had the ginger beer which was flat eventhough it came from a can. I really loved this place which is rare for Park Slope. I cannot wait to go again and try some other things although it will be hard not to get the cod and chips. YUMMY!!!!!!
