What's the proper way to clean a cast iron dutch oven used for deep frying?

I have a large cast iron dutch oven that I use often to fry french fries and chicken. I just got done with re-seasoning it due to the grease build up on the sides from accidental overflows and dripping from the latch of my fry basket. My main concern is how to go about cleaning my dutch oven after each fry. The smell and oil from the potatoes and chicken obviously remain after disposal and a thorough wipe-down. To combat this I would previously wash the my cast iron with soap and water and dry. The two problems with this are obviously rust and removing my seasoning. What would be the best way to care for my dutch oven that's used essentially as a deep fryer.
