Little Portugal & Other Ideas

Hello Toronto;

My wife and I are visiting for the first time, in for the weekend at end of October. Great board, done my homework but was looking for additional ideas on what to do on Saturday. We're staying in Yorkville, and was thinking of taking a leisurely walk through downtown over to St. Lawrence Market to grab some breakfast, and then maybe taking the subway to....Little Portugal? Most of the posts are about Chiado, but is there anything else of interest around there - I've never eaten Portugese so thought it might be something different to do. Any local mom & pop (non-Chiado) kind of place for a late lunch?

Any other neighborhood off the beaten path that makes for an interesting walk for a few hours? Some good shopping to appease my beloved?

Before I forget, any favorite cheese merchants at St. Lawrence Market? I love Canadian cheeses, want to bring some back.

And re dinner Saturday - we're going to Scaramouche Friday night, so looking for something much less extravagant . Any cool little informal place in Chinatown you can suggest?

Thanks in advance!
