Went there last night, and it IS a nice addition to the local dining scene. Luis is a friendly host, enthusiastic about food and I love his "it doesn't take that much more thought to make things really good" attitude. Pleasant decor (wishing for a padded chair, though). His wife, Francine, does the cooking, which was very good. They asked for feedback, and among our party of four, we were all pleased with the flavors of the food (had antipasto, salads, sole/pasta, gnocchi, and flank stake) - we were honest with them that the pasta's hadn't come out hot enough, and likewise the flank steak. They sent us home with lovely turkey/veg soup for Sunday lunch as a way of making it up to us. Desserts were also good - pandoro toasted with hazelnut icecream, very good cheesecake (90 year old aunt's recipe) and fried ice cream truffle. BYOB was a great way to save some on the bill, which was reasonable considering how stuffed we were when we left (brought home some pasta and steak for today's lunch). Appetizer/salad/four entrees/3 desserts was about $112, plus the tip...We look forward to going again and wish them well.
