Portland with two (reasonably adventurous) kids

Hi,

We're a family of San Francisco 'hounds visiting Portland this weekend, with children aged 8 and 3 in tow. They're pretty flexible about what they're willing to eat, but obviously some restaurants aren't going to be appropriate for even a well-behaved three-year-old. Any tips on places we ought not to miss, especially those serving local Portland cuisine or other things less readily available in the San Francisco area? We're staying in the Marriott downtown, but are quite willing to walk or use transit.

As mentioned, we could especially use tips on places which are, if not actively child-friendly, at least restaurants where a child would not be clearly unwelcome (and in some cases, a child would be fine at lunch but less so at dinner). We've got a good intuition for that sort of thing in the Bay Area, but are obviously quite unfamiliar with the Portland restaurant scene.

Thanks for any information you can provide! From what I've read on this board, it appears that Pok Pok, at least, should definitely be on our list.
