poor NYC chef coming to visit a visitor in Vegas

Oyster face | Jan 28, 2006 10:43 PM

I'm in vegas for awhile for work on a reality show. (what you'll do for money) So to even out the bad juju I invited all of my poor friend from nyc to stay at my place and enjoy the really interesting city that vegas is. The first batch of friends that are coming to visit are true food lovers with no money - culinary school - worked at spotted pig (Michelin guide rated 1 star) Anyway if you know anyone that works in a kitchen and isn't the head chef you know they make no money. So i wanted to take them to the best places that they could afford. LOS is the perfect example there is a lot of thai in nyc butt nothing that good. Or little old places like luv-it and places with a real atmosphere like Peppermill's. I guess I'm looking for specials at restaurants that make really good food (that you can't find in nyc?) or that have that super old vegas feel. Lunch specials / happy hours / donuts / snacks by the casino - and one really good / bad steak special at a casino - they would get a kick out of that.
I'm asking for a lot.

Thanks for any help. Hope everybody is eating well out there! - M
