try a new place for once in your freaking life! more importantly, tell me about it.

this was inspired by my enrolling in the acc campus off grove and riverside. 41 holla! anyways, ive been spending my downtime around class traversing the lovely east side looking for pungent places that will pleasantly pique my problematic appetitite. currently i have settled on exploring montopolis dr (sorry mph, i know im just cribbing from your book!) yesterday it was the old standby tomgro convenience store, where i nabbed a barbacoa and carne guisada taco. deliciousness ensued, but this place has been reviewed before. why do you need me to tell you about it? (ill be honest tho, i only went to tomgro bc tacos el rico was closed; shoutout to scrumptious!)

today, though, i stopped by rays bbq off montopolis and some other street that begins with m. its kinda like montesori but not really. monsanto! anyways, i get in there and the place is a total dive. already im liking it. its two black guys, one with cheap fronts and the other is extraordinarily large. they are messing around with a latina whos paying at the counter, and the fat guy's jokes about how hes ready to die like pun, big, moe, fat pat, hawk, and etc (rip!) and the other guys cavorting are crackin me up. score! i get a chopped beef sandwich with chips and a soda for five bucks, then say peace! little did i realize that thursdays also are soul food days; you know i cant have enough tail of ox or whatever these colored cats be whippin up (always next time, right?)! anyways, the sandwich was delicious, the atmosphere is chill, and you can support a local minority-owned business instead of going to rubys or artz or whatever! east side represent!

also lixlix, i hit up manns bbq last week! them old white people are quite charming! plus free brownies means theyre officially the best barbecue joint up north! book it! strike another one for north lamar and 183 being the northern food MECCA of austin!

so, what yall yuppies (or opies, depending on your age) got? i know theres gotta be more than one genius in this town! hopefully yall can fill me in on what ive been missing!
