My husband and I are traveling to RRV next weekend. We love pinots. I know that the winemakers can change, or vineyards can change hands. Are there certain must-stop vineyards (that are open for tasting) for fabulous pinot (esp. those we cannot find at home)?
Last year we did: Lymar (once Hugh Chapelle took over), J. Swan, Rochioli, Hartford, Arista, M. Edwards (other whose names are escaping me right now).
We are considering: Dutton Goldfield, Dutton Estate, Woodenhead, Russian Hill, Siduri (although we see a lot of these at home), Sapphire Hill, Davis Family (although I do not think they are open to public), walterHansel (again, not sure they are open to public).
Which of these do you prefer or do you havefavorites that serve up the best pinot?
