For the longest time, the number of Vietnamese restos in Marpole can be counted by Winston Churchill's "V" fingers (as in 2). And both were rather meh IMO.

Then recently Thai Son, a well-known chain in GVRD, added a new outlet between Budget Car Sales and Fraser Arms Hotel on SW Marine. Thai Son is a notch above the other two and one of the superior pho restos in town IMO.

I just caught sight of this review of Cafe Mai-Mai which appears to be about a 1.5 years old based on the reviews. Sounds intriguing, esp. their no-MSG broths:

You can get waffles too it seems. And pho ga. But the banh mi seems to be off the menu now:

IIRC this space used to be a Japanese resto offering yoshoku ?
