Pho Hoa Clement - Banh Mi back in the Inner

Jeni Bean | Jul 25, 200503:10 PM

The Boyfriend and I needed a snack yesterday but didn't have time to have a sit down lunch. He suggested I run to one of our favorite pho places Pho Hoa Clement to get some banh mi. We noticed a few weeks ago that the restaurant had added banh mi to the menu, a relief since Little Paris II shut its doors not too long ago. I went at about 1:30 and ordered them to go. One BBQ pork, and one BBQ chicken. The order took about 10 minutes.

They came split as requested on a not too hard roll with a good crust. Both came with the requested extra cilantro and had delicious and ample filling. One surprise was the HUGE amount of jalapeno pepper. I can deal with a little spice, but there were so many slices (BIG slices) of pepper that neither I, nor my heat loving BF could eat all the peppers. This is the perfect sandwich for real heat seekers.

The vegetables could have been more pickled, but all in all these sandwiches were delicious and satisfying. Boy am I glad there are banh mi within 3 blocks of my house again!

Prices range from $2.50 - 3.00 and the varieties include BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, meatball, combination, ham/pork and more!
