Quick notes from Pho 2000 in Fields Corner:
Had to pop in for dinner after reading this week's post on it. Bypassed the usual Bo 7 Mon for a couple of individual dishes.
Grilled beef in wrappers was quite pleasant. Nothing to complain about, really.
Caramel "hot pot" pork: WTF is this? The pot arrives at the table, barely warm. It contains perhaps 7 or 8 thinly-sliced, dessicated strips of pork. To their credit, they taste nice. However, the pot is perhaps 1/4 full. It looks like someone has eaten most of our food before bringing it to the table. This dish costs $7.95, as much as the full-sized entrees. What gives?
I'm still excited to try the "mixed fondue" hot pots.
