Pho 2000

Cantata | Jan 25, 200511:40 PM

After one too many martinis at Morton's, I got on the wrong train and ended up exiting at Wilshire/Western. Lucky for me! Instead of grabbing dinner at McD's (Boyfriend's preference), I got a to-go order of oxtail pho and spring rolls from Pho 2000.

I wouldn't recommend the spring rolls, as they are about the size of the first thumb digit and overgreased. However, the oxtail pho (#8) was spicy enough to make me shed some tears and cleverly packaged with broth separate from bean sprouts separate from oxtail separate from biting white onions/cilantro. They include individual portions of sriracha and hoisin sauce. Combine all in an enormous bowl, and you've got enough soup to feed four of a normal appetite... all for $7.

This will be my next stop when craving spicy comfort food.
