NEW Peruvian - yummy '"Los Balcones"

Had lunch today at a new peruvian Restaurant " Los Balcones " in Hollywood that i saw listed here last week i have been driving by and wondering.......Iusually go to Marios.... but now I think i will go here instead!
Small , funky decor, I aprked at the arc light and walked acrooss the street not knowing that they ( The restaurant) will validate for parking at the arc light theater. that made me instntly happy....there were 4 tabels seated out of about 15.

All the food I saw coming out looked great.

I had a plate of chonchitas (sp?)mussels that were awesome toped with a tomatoe/ onion salsa ...but not. it also had a lemon dressing that was good ehough to sop up with bread.
The aji (hot green sauce) was really tasty but only came in a small bowl although they readily brought more (3 times) upon request. Marios puts a squeeze bottle of the stuff on your table.

MY friend had the ceviche which i tasted and was really , good served with thinly sliced onions on top and a lemon based dressing . it was also cold and plentyful
but for $11.00 it should have been , but it was worth it......

I hada Pescado Sudado , poached fish with Tomatoes and onions that Was light and flavorful. It came with a large mound of light white rice ...great for aborbing the sauce.

MY friend also had a saltdo of carne Which was Beef strips onions tomates and french fries all sauteed and mixed together ..it was better than MArios. it also came with a mound of rice.

All in all I would reccomend for anyone who likes peruvian and likes MArios , but dosent like waitting for a table.
