Lunch on saturday at Sriprphai. Had the saute chicken, pinapple, cashew and toasted chilis. Sweet tasting and delicious. Also had the BBQ pork tenderloin salad. Wonderful.
Went to Flushing for lunch on Sunday. First stop was Chengdu Heaven. The chef wasn't in, so I settled for a bowl of dan-dan noodles. Fabulous as usual. If I could find that buzz closer to Rego Park, that would be sweet. On the way back to the subway, I stopped at Corner 28 and got the shrimp-egg noddles from the street window. I love how they make them, pouring the liquid onto the flat pan, adding shrimp and eggs and then putting it into the steamer for about a minute. You get a Big Mac box full of noodles, shrimp and eggs, all for $1.25. (they might have mischarged me, how can it have been so cheap!). They squirt some sweet soy sauce on the top for good measure and I had a fantastic meal. The only disappointment is that they are always out of the pork buns (not the steamed ones). Where can I get some good ones to go?
Sunday night dinner at Cheburechnaya. Had the Pilaff (delicious and better than expected), big chunks of braised beef, carrots, and rice in a plate too big to come close to finishing. Only $8.00. Also had the lamb fat and lamb meat kabobs. The lamb fat is heavenly.
If I could have those three meals every weekend....wow.
