Sin Hwa Coffeeshop in Pulau Tikus is famous for 2 things: the Penang assam laksa stall and the Penang fried koay teow stall. Both which I tried today were definitely above average by Penang's standards.
But I went there to seek out Penang's unique dish of deep-fried spring rolls ("popiah chee") served with fresh herbs (torch ginger, mint leaves), fresh shredded lettuce, pineapple & onions, and drenched with assam laksa soup. Delicious!!
