Pasta De Naranja - How is this eaten?

James | Aug 4, 2003 06:35 PM

Out of curiosity I bought a 7 oz. package of Pasta De Naranja (orange paste) manufactured by La Cena Fine Foods at my local supermarket. It looks like a jelly type of sweet candy, and the only ingredients are Orange, sugar, and food coloring.

It is very, very bitter so I am wondering how it eaten? I did a google search and didn't find an answer to my question. Actually, I'm even more confused because I saw it listed on a few online sites (like below) for Spanish foods as a sweet along with other candies, implying that it is eaten as is, but it's hard to imagine this being eaten as candy (granted, I realize that as a white-bread suburbanite I have a limited awareness and palate, but bitter is bitter, ain't it?)
