We are having 35 or so people over for my father's birthday this weekend. There's only one room aircon and it's supposed to be around 85-90*F. Since the end of November we have had people over for 3 other birthday parties, multiple holiday parties, and other events. I'm hot, tired, and out of appetizer/nibbles and salad ideas for this weather :)
The plan is to serve burgers & sausages--but that's about as far as I've made it with plans. I'm thinking I'll cook down a heap of onions in the slow cooker overnight and serve some fries. People always bring drinks and chips.
Any ideas on nibbles/appetizers, salads (not necessarily leafy salads), or even desserts? My dad loves germans chocolate cake & carrot cake, but those feel too heavy for the weather. Lemon pie squares are likely to show up as my dad loves lemon and I can serve that cold. More ideas? Recipes you love?
Thanks so much for any help. You all always have the best suggestions :)
