My wife and I had the luck of a brief stop-over in Paris this past April. We had only a brief time for two restaurants (lunch, dinner) and a quick breakfast at one of our favorite pastry shops. In order, these are:
Au Petit Suisse, 16 Rue de Vaugirard - We had a wonderful lunch -- a salad nicoise (?) with crunch, delectable bread & cheese & egg, and a veal cutlet with some of the best fries I've ever tasted. Truly a fantastic experience (and relatively inexpensive - 15 to 20 eur/plate).
Chez L'Ami Jean - Has been much-discussed on the threads, and it did impress. For those seeking suit-and-tie dining, this is not your place. For those who are curious to dine on wonderfully-prepared Basque-inspired meats and seafoods, this is it. Come prepared to spend ~60-80EUR/p + wine, have a hearty meal in a jovial atmosphere.
Dalloyao - Pastry and coffee, actually a catering co, served in style. We've enjoyed our breakfast at the Luxembourg (Jardin) location quite a few times over the years, and have enjoyed each meal. Crispy, well-executed croissants, rich coffee and other delectable treats.
Eat up, eat well!
