Restaurants & Bars

Paradiso (Philly)

Six of us went to Paradiso on Saturday night at 7:30. This turned out to be a very bad idea.

Let me say that the food was excellent. The menu was interesting, and we all enjoyed what we ordered.
The place is attractive; the service is very good.

But the noise level was unbearable. In addition to the high voice level, there was a saxaphone player, so people were talking even louder to be heard over the music. It was impossible to hear the person next to you.
We all had headaches and couldn't wait to get out of there.

This is such a shame. Our friends had been there several times on weekday evenings, and it had been fine. We were thinking that when we have traveled in Europe or Asia, we have never, never had that noise level in a restaurant.

Anyway - good restaurant, but I would avoid a weekend evening. In fact, we were so uncomfortable that I don't know if I could ever convince anyone to return.
