Tried it out twice now, and I'm comfortable posting a review of this place.
SW corner of 12th and woodward in a stripmall. Its a small sandwich shop. They just celebrated their one year anniversary.
Their food is fantastic!! The sandwiches are six bucks a piece with minimal customization. They come in with a variety of bread choices, all pressed niced and warm. My favorite part of the place is that try their best to use almost all local ingredients. I'm a huge proponent of the locovore movement. Place is immacutely clean and has had great music on.
Anyway, on to the food! i've sampled a total of three items on their menu.
The Philly: Roast beef, grilled peppers/onions, provolone, and horseradish mayo. Pretty good, but not great. To me, the philly should be overflowing with meat with melted cheese dripping everywhere. Somethings are meant to be greasy and messy. I'm not sure if a hipster frou-frou philly totally works. I'll still take it over anything from subway/jimmy johns/and maybe even potbellys.
Tuscon: Grilled Chicken breast, onion/peppers/monterey jack, spicy mayo. This was one delicious sandwhich. My gf's pick of our lunch-date. Very well balanced, great flavors. Chicken breast was moist and flavorful.. and real chicken! Do Try.
Boston: Salami, Mortadella, Capocolla, provolone, lettuce, tomato, italian vinaigrette. I'll be honest, I already have a soft spot for italian meats, but goddamn this was really freakin good. The meats were of high quality. My favorite though? The vegetables. Sounds stupid, but the tomato.. was a really fresh sweet tomato. Same with the lettuce. Maybe its a figment of my imagination since i'm a locowhore, but anyone who thinks farmers markets produce are superior will know what I'm talking about.
All in all, definitely put in high-rotation for my lunch schedule. Def give it a try.
