We went back to Olympic Pita (coney Island Avenue/Brooklyn between Aves J and K yesterday for the first time in a year and had a very tasty meal. Yemeni soup was a deliciously spiced chicken broth with chunks of lamb and lots off green coriander. Their chef's salad special for min 2 at $4 per person is maybe 10 dishes of different salads, all you can eat - about half of them are good, some like the grilled eggplant, tabouleh and spiced carrot, extremely good, others (2 cole slaws and 1 pot salad for example) blah. We had the iraqi kebab and a lamb shish kebab - both good the latter especially so - juicy, well spiced, perfectly cooked. Forgot to mention the constantly replenised and delicious pitas fresh out the the oven.
They also have a felafel bar that looks somewhat better than Famous Pita up the street, but the meats are the star attractions. Much too much food. Well worth the trip. (closed saturday)
