Official Alphonso Mangos 2015 discussion

foodyDudey | Apr 20, 201505:56 AM     12

Since it's 2015, time for a new thread!

I bought a box of "jumbo" Alphonso mangos from Kohinoor on Saturday, and we ate a few on Sunday evening. The size is not much different from previous years so don't be surprised at the misleading description on the box. Alphonsos are on the small side, but the ones I got are no bigger than what we usually see. They taste quite good, and were very juicy, in the way that a good peach can be juicy. I expect we will see bigger and even better tasting ones later in the season, and the prices usually drop a bit. This box of 12 small mangos was $34
