I love cilantro but I know that not everyone does. Many of those who don't like it say that it tastes like soap to them. I wouldn't know. It tastes great to me.
However, there are some things that taste very strongly of mold or dirt to me and that other folks think are just fine. For example, I just bought a bag of frozen pitted dark cherries at Costco. I was upset that, to me, they have a strong flavor of mold or dirt and I was ready to return them for credit. My husband, however, thinks they are very good.
Another item is a tomato spread or conserve that was homemade by a good friend who is an excellent cook. I picked up that same strong mold/dirt flavor and just couldn't tolerate it. Everyone else loved it and had seconds on pieces of bruschetta.
Am I nuts? Do any of you CHs know what I'm talking about?
