October 2020 DOTM (Dish of the Month) - ARANCINI

LulusMom | Sep 30, 202012:44 PM     79

Welcome to our DOTM reporting thread for October 2020. Our dish this month is arancini. These delightful treats got their name because they were the size of a small round orange, or arancino in Italian. I’m most used to arancini being fried rice balls with cheese and a lightly crusty exterior, but I was surprised to find (via google) that they usually have meat or peas in them (suppli being the Roman variation without meat). It’s fine with me if you want to make them without the meat. Eat Your Books is showing 94 online recipe for arancini, and 12 for suppli.

Per Chowhound rules, please do not post another author's recipe verbatim. You may list ingredients and summarize the technique in your own words. If you found the recipe online, please share a link. Your photos are encouraged, but if pictures aren't your thing, they are by no means required.
