Restaurants & Bars

Each time I am anywhere below say 6th St. I am astounded by the changes. As I always say, blocks I wouldn't have walked on now sell things I can't afford. But I like the energy.

Am sure you read about NYC ICY - 2nd St., and Av B - anyone have advice? The story of its origins and the toddler who inspired it - both charming. Peach raspberry - refreshing. But I thought the chocolate paled in comparison to say Ciao Bella. flavors to recommend? I do find their no mix/flavor integrity factor policy interesting. I thought the prices fair and the staff generous with tastes/samples.

Now over on Spring in Nolita - anyone been to BREAD? Advise please. It is a few doors E. of our old favorite, Lombardi's. Will they ever open their pleasant garden? Has the pizza slipped just a tad? I like the salad. Found the clam pizza too chewy to contemplate. Still v.reasonable. My husband, daughter and I had dinner (not huge, not drinkers) and our check was $21.

Anyone know what's coming in on the first block of Orchard just S. of Houston?--each storefront is a construction site.
