Dear Chicago hounds,
I am sorry to be so late with my request - please take pity on me. Next Monday I am flying into your city for the Motivation Show and I'll need to act as a hostess to a bunch of (mostly young) people from my head office in Europe, some of them my superiors. Need to make a good impression. Our exploits might include:
- a "typical Chicago" experience (preferably downtown) like a blues bar, BBQ, or something like that, with relaxed atmosphere
- an interesting (but centrally located - we're staying at the 71 on E Wacker Drive) "ethnic food" experience (Asian or whatever Chicago does well - but not Eastern European, as that's where they're from)
- maybe one semi-formal place for lunch or dinner with the big cheese (semi-upscale because our expense account probably wouldn't accommodate anything costing above $50 pp, if that)
or anything else that's inexpensive, good (doesn't need to be great, and they are not chowhounds, but I am not willing to suffer), including fun bars and such.
For the record, I have been to Chicago twice but can't claim to "know it". So, treat me like a country cousin please (explain the location, etc.)...
