Passage to India in Salem, MA - HIGHLY RECOMMEND Quirky atmosphere (in the old Salem News building I think) but clean and decorated in cool colors and rich fabrics. Decently stocked bar, and attentive waitstaff. All of our food was fresh, tasty, HOT and fast from the bread and appetizers to the entrees. The presentation is nice with the little copper hotpots and such.
Aroma in Peabody, MA - Not so much. This used to be the only game in town. Shrimp aftabi was my favovrite dish, but lately the quality has deteriorated and now is on par with the decor. Been the same people running it forever, but the food always overpowered the impersonable waitstaff (except for Ali, who rocks by the way) and the shoddy interior and exterior of the building. I keep hoping they'll get the food back on track, but no luck so far. Not awful, just boring.
