Nirvana -- 18th and K -- not impressed

Checked out the new all-veggie Indian restaurant downtown for lunch yesterday. I have to say that I do not recommend it. I was going to try the buffet, but was disappointed to see that it was all starches. If you don't mind just eating potatoes, rice, and breads, then you might enjoy it, but I need some vegetables with my meal. So I decided to order off of the menu. I order palak (spinach) with lentils and my sister ordered the uru (eggplant). Neither of us liked what we got. The flavor was off and the consistency of the dishes was unpleasant. Also, I was not expecting the restaurant to be as expensive as it was. The prices for the curries are even higher than Heritage India, which is a zillion times better. If you are a vegetarian, you are much better off going to a regular restaurant and ordering a vegetarian entree there or check out Woodlands (also S. Indian) in Langley Park (so much better!!!)
