Got a request, and a few tough criteria to meet.
This Saturday, would like to take my cousin and her husband out for a nice dinner. This will be a rare break away from their two year old twin boys (they have both been developing noticeable bags under their eyes---the parents, tbat is).
Geographic criteria: They're in Glendale, we're in Silverlake. Anywhere in between is fine (Eagle Rock?) stretching from Downtown to the South, and Pasadena to the---um---Northeast, I guess.
Cuisine criteria: This is where it gets tough. Cousin's hubby is not particularly houndish, stictly meat and potatoes, nothing ethnic. Cousin, uh, doesn't really eat meat. How this doesn't put unbearable strain on their marriage, I'll never know. Full bar would be wonderful.
Ideas so far: CASA BIANCA, which has been discussed between us, although lack of alcohol and long waits a deterrent. CAFE BEAUJOLAIS (although beer and wine only), THE PALM, NICK & STEF'S (but will non-carnivore be OK at these latter two?). WATER GRILL is out as SO and I will be there the night before.
I don't have a lot of experience at any of the aforementioned (except WG). Would appreciate any Hound input, or other suggestions. Price not an issue.
