We visited Solera last Friday night for Happy Hour. Their Happy Hour runs from 4:00-6:00 PM Monday through Friday. We tried the following:
Sangria: $2.00/glass- The red Sangria was good. It has a mild flavor with a few small bits of fruit floating about.
From the Happy Hour Tapas menu we tried:
Chorizo Bocadillos with Galician Remoulade- One chorizo "burger" approximately two inches in diameter. Very good flavor. I believe it had a garlic alioli as a condiment. $2.00
Grilled Asparagus with Romesco and Manchego Cheese- Very large portion for a Happy Hour Tapas portion. The asparagus are grilled slightly. The Romesco sauce has lots of garlic and tomato flavor. Very good. $2.00
Fried Oyster Montadito with Harissa Alioli- This was horrible. The oysters had been frozen at some point in their lives. My thought has always been if you cannot get fresh oysters, do not sell oysters. Two oysters with sauce and potato. $4.00
Grilled Bread with Serrano Ham and Manchego Cheese- Two pieces of toast with serrano ham with manchego cheese lightly melted on top. Very good. $3.00
Piquillo Peppers Stuffed With Herbed Goat's Milk Cheese- Two pieces of roasted, stuffed pepper with a light oil drizzled over them. This was our favorite from the Happy Hour menu. We ate multiple orders of this one. Very good. $2.00
We also ordered Foie Gras with watercress and rhubarb from the regular menu. This dish is not Foie Gras, it is Pate De Foie Gras which is completely different. This is two pieces of toast spread with the pate with watercress and cooked rhubarb slices on the side. This is very good. $9.50
The service was friendly but inattentive at the main bar where we dined.
