I've just moved to the Quarter, and I'm a hungry 'un.

As the subject line insinuates, I've just moved into the French Quarter from uptown and need to start mapping out the eats. I know some of the quarter vendors (beyond Lucky Dog) from my unfortunately infrequent jaunts down here, but I could probably use some more advice. Irregardless, I'm sure I'll stumble onto some diamonds just exploring. Anything that we need to try right away? I'm more interested in the neighborhood-type places than the more expensive places or the more raffish tourist places, but I do realize that the quarter focus more on the later than the former.

Also, and this is horrid, but I was wondering if there is anywhere in the Quarter (or in the county - hah!) that carries a good deal of sports. I've found some places that will have the Saints or the Tigers, but nothing really beyond that (meaning, they'll have one big screen on the Saints and that's it). I'd love to find somewhere to sink into for a long Saturday watching the boys of old alma mater battle enemies from beyond the state line.
