Watching How I Met Your Mother tonight, the gang spends the episode looking for the best burger in NYC. One character has had it once before and describes it as,
"It's so much more than just a burger. I mean, that first bite...oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun, like a sesame freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then…a pickle! The most playful little pickle. Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce, and a patty of ground beef so…exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savories so….delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread! This is God, speaking to us through food."
Not gonna lie. After I saw that I was sorry I had already eaten dinner (and yes, it promped me to rewind my DVR and transcribe it). It also got me thinking about those food moments in life that have caused me to pause and reflect upon my place in the universe.
How about you? What's that one (or two) moment(s) that are so good, they almost make you sad because you know may never feel that way again?
