I've had a kitchenaide mixer for a long time but I almost always use the coated paddle mixer but tonight I used the dough hook and grey residue came off on the dough- I read online that it was because I washed it in the washer. I noticed it before but I had always just wiped it off before mixing it, which I tried to do tonight but I guess I didn't wipe it well enough. I pulled off the bits of dough that seemed to have a lot of gray on it and the rest looked fine. Do you think it's okay to still use the dough or should I just toss it?
