Mitsuwa - Is it worth it, should I work it?

Pumpkin Lover | Jun 2, 2003 03:49 PM

I did a search on the Mitsuwa supermart, and my research has come up with some conflicting points. When I first heard about it, it seemed like a godsend - not so anymore.

Back in 2001, some folks responded that the quality of the place had gone down - is this true?

Are the prices higher or lower than the marts in the city (i.e. JAS Mart, Sunrise Mart, etc.)? Some of the old posts indicated that Mitsuwa had much higher prices.

What other shops are around Mitsuwa (are there Japanese shops)? And, is it true that these shops aren't open on Sundays?

Basically, I want to know if it's worth the extra $4 to get from Manhattan all the way out there, or if I should just keep shopping at JAS Mart down the street. A huge Japanese mart sounds *so* appealing, though.

Help me, folks!
