I went to Queens to check on Spicy Mina's. The security grates were down and I thought I was out of luck. Then I noticed the back door. I went inside, and there was Mrs Azad -- Mina -- putting the finishing touches on the kitchen!! She was too shy or busy to talk to me, so I spoke with a man who is evidently one of her relatives. He told me the restaurant was supposed to open today, but one of the contractors had failed to install some necessary component on time. (I've seen this happen so often with restaurants.) He's hoping to open in a few days, maybe tomorrow. (Note that when open, Mina's will not serve food until sunset through the month of Ramadan.)
He gave me the take-out menu. It has only the simplest dishes, none of the specialties (those will be listed on the not yet printed main menu) ... but prices are low. Chili chicken is six dollars, chicken biryani is 5, veg curries are 3, and tandoori fish is ten.
I got the phone number and e-mail address. You can use these to check when the restaurant will be open.
