yesterday was dragging on as I sat in a room with 40 other traffic offenders in a Holiday Inn Express, Mill Valley....at the lunch break someone came back with a good looking hamburger and fries - i asked where it came from and went over after my release to discover what I hope will be a nice little find and the completion of a chowhoundish circle. I got my ticket while looking for a breakfast place in the Sierra foothills town of Folsom - classic case of "revenue raising" but I won't digress - and now as I was paying the price for my curiosity I find out that maybe there is a silver lining to this dark expensive cloud. the Shoreline Coffee Shop is at 221A Shoreline Highway - right behind the Video Droid shop and near the Walgreens. It's been there since the mid sixties and bills itself as serving Mexican and American food. The inside has a classic old counter complete with elderly waitresses and there are other tables scattered about and maybe some booths (?)
There were generous platters of food in evidence but alas, I had already brown bagged my lunch for the day. I'm hoping that good looking burger was indicative of more good food and I'm looking forward to going back. They are closed on Mondays. Tu-Fri open at 6am - 3:30 Sat. 7 - 3:30 Sun 8-2:30 - these times are by my memory - call them at 415. 3880-9085 to check. Anyone out there have any knowledge about this place?
