For a special occasion with family and in-laws?? We need somewhere intimate and very quiet, that's good with biggish groups (7 people). Masa's sounds amazing, as do ED and GD. The only drawbacks I see are the supposedly drab interior of SD (how are grey walls good for a restaurant? It really depressed me at Walzwerk on South Van Ness).
And Gary Danko, from what I can tell, only gives the prix fixe menu options, not a la carte? Is this correct? Does each menu at GD allow for variations within it?
Can anyone who's been to 2 or more of thse places compare of the pros and cons of each?
