The women from Pearl Oyster Bar split up and Mary (the blonde, taller of the two) just opened her own restaurant 2 weeks ago. I went last night and think it's a possitive (and larger!) alternative.
I crave the Pearl Lobster Roll (a tri-annual necessity) and went to Mary's and it's practically the same. Admittedly it's been over 4 months since I had a Pearl one but it's the same large chunk lobster, mayo a little bit of chives and celery in a toasted buttered white bun, the same shoestring fries. Had a side of braised greens (a new conceit). And it was all great. The menu is a little more "sit down restauranty." There are about 12 actual two-tops and a larger bar that seats 10. The whole place is roomier. However, the prices remain the same as Pearl (my dinner including tip was 30 bucks). Looking forward to more meals here (there's a clam roll on the lunch menu!) when I'm feeling flush.
BTW: It's on the corner of W 4th St and Charles street in the former Fez restaurant space.
