Mao Gua (Hairy Melon)

So my thread got moved, but I thought I'd post one of the questions I asked there, here. I figure recipe help goes in this suggestion, for the home cook.

In a bold moment at the Asian market, I bought a mao gua melon (hairy gourd), and I don't know what to do with it. Do I need to peel it? Can I add it to a stir fry with other veggies? What does it taste like?
