I had dinner last night at Mandoline in old city last night, and it was wonderful! I had a very nice smoked salmon and asparagus carpaccio with an avacado puree, micro greens and garlicky crostini - very creative. We also had mussels in a garlic-tomato-white wine broth and perfectly cooked corriander crusted rack of lamb. The place is small and very nicely decorated with an open kitchen. I believe it has been open only a couple of months. Our waitress was great, I highly recommend it! Prices were just right - apps $6-$10 entrees mid teens to $25 for a full rack of lamb. It is at 213 Chestnut Street. 215-238-9402
