Hi, we're coming down to Southern California in late March. There will be 6 of us, kids, parents, grandparents. We all like to eat.
We're arriving late on a Thursday and staying near LAX. On Friday morning, we're driving up to our rental house near Zuma Beach. We'll be staying there for a couple of days before heading down to Anaheim on Sunday.
1. Would Back on the Beach be a good place to stop for breakfast on Friday?
2. Where should we go on Friday to pick up some fresh fruit and nuts for snacking on? Bonus if we can get wine and cheese at the same time.
3. Places to eat in/around Malibu. Reading through the threads, these places struck me as top choices: Lily's, Taverna Tony's, Malibu Seafood. As well, we should pick up croissants from Maison Giraud and go to Grom's.
4. I saw bunches of other places mentioned in the area, which I will list out below. I was just wondering if these are all still open/ places you would still recommend. Also, are these all places that allow children?
Saddle Peak Lodge - Sunday brunch or expensive special occasion dinner
Geoffrey's - nice brunch, pay for the view
John's Garden - (lunch) salads and sandwiches
Tra du Noi - classic Italian
Cafe Vida - smoothies and wraps
Malibu Country Kitchen - sandwiches
Ollies Duck and Dive Gastro Pub
K Bakery - baked goods, soup, chicken pot pie
Castra Nostra - pasta and pizza
PC Green - grab and go (best tortillas)
Casa Escobar (Malibu Inn)
Beech Street - salads and panini
Cafecito Organico - coffee shop
Country Natural Food Market - convenience store with some homemade Korean food for sale
Sage Room - Italian
La Costa Mission
Malibu Pier Restaurant
Thanks for your advice!
