We had dinner tonight at the new Malaysian/Singaporean/Thai restaurant,
2946 South Norfolk Street in
Which is in Marina Shopping Center; its in the back, where the Japanese restaurant used to be. They have redecorated but not moved any walls or done major changes. It was quiet enough that I heard an interesting story being told two tables away.
We had Malaysian Lobak, Dry Curry with lamb, and Penang Vegetable, and coconut rice.
The Lobak was beautifully displayed on a black triangular plate and was generous. It seemed very good to us, but we are relative newcomers to Malaysian cuisine, so I dont think Im a good judge. The dry curry lamb was delicious and got more so as we ate it (the reverse of the usual). Of course, its not really dry. The vegetable dish was a light sweet and sour taste, the veggies lightly done and a good variety. The coconut rice was mildly scented and flavored with coconut.
We drank Lychee juice with several lychees in it. Mmmmmmm.
So, try this new restaurant, and tell us what you think.
