magnetic knife holder. Yay or Nay?

paulpaul | Feb 20, 201501:10 PM     31

I've got a small kitchen that, for the most part, is very organized to my cooking style. I only have few good knives that just sit in a huge drawer that could be used for utensils, rolls of parchment, foil, etc...

Considering the layout of my kitchen, putting a knife strip above my stove really seems like the most practical spot for them. but I'm wondering if anyone here has one set up and can give some input.

Are they practical and functional? Do I have to worry about them slipping? Will the surface damage the knife edges? Will the knives accidentally nick the walls over time?
