Lunch Truck Find

The chinese food truck in front of Friends Select (17th and the Parkway, across 17th from the Subway) has added two wonderful new items to the menu. First (shown as a "week special" so it might not be there permanently) is Cantonese Wonton Soup. A 1/2 pint container filled with about 6 shrimp & pork thin-skinned wontons, some lo mein noodles, some chicken chunks, and brocolli. Not much room for the soup, but enough to give you a spoonful with each bite. It may be the best $1.25 lunch in the city. If you're really hungry, you can add the Bourbon chicken. Her usual array of veggies (broccoli, string beans, celery, eggplant, onion, and carrots) served over rice or noodles, with two chicken breasts marinated in what seems like teriyaki sauce, which she cuts into chunks with her scissors. Your choice of sauce (I like the Hunan), and optional hot sauce and/or kimchee. If you get the kimchee, skip the hot sauce -- it's overkill. The Bourbon chicken is only $3.50.
