A chowhound challenge:
On Saturday we are taking our 3 year old to the chilren's museum. We'll be taking the T in from Newton (Riverside Line to Park St., switch to red to South Station). Somewhere along there, we need to get off the T and go meet friends for lunch.
The friends have tickets for a matinee at the Huntington Theater (something like that) and one of them is vegetarian.
So we need a restaurant that:
is child accomodating - don't need crayons and a kid's menu, just not too formal and fancy and not really loud, since it freaks out my kid
has good vegetarian options
is a quick walk from the green line
and is convenient to the theater.
The current plan is Bertucci's on Comm Ave (nr. Newbury St.). Bertucci's is perfectly serviceable, but I was hoping that, given all the good food in Boston, we can do better within our constraints.
Betty's Wok and Noodle has already been rejected on the grounds of not sufficiently convenient and poor Chowhound reviews from 2002.
