Some coworkers and I had lunch at the Florida Street Grill today (at Florida & 19th St. in SF). It is a large, clean space with a bit of a limited menu, but they do an excellent job with what they do serve. We had the sweet plantains and Yucca combo for an appetizer ($5). It came with sour cream, whipped beans, and pickled cabbage – all very delicious. My friends had panini BLT’s with large bowls of mushroom & polenta soup ($6), which they both said were great. I had the Argentinean churrasca skewers ($9), which came with three large skewers of grilled flap steak, chimichurri, saffron rice, and a mixed green salad. Oh yeah, and we had fresh pineapple & cantaloupe juice for $1.50!
Presentation is also impressive at this place, as I believe the restaurant is tied-in with the Latin culinary school nearby. The only drawbacks that I could find were the tough parking, and fact that it is not open for dinner.
