Luisa’s Pizza & Pasta [Nob Hill, San Francisco]

Melanie Wong | Jun 9, 201410:11 AM     10

She’s baaaack! Luisa Hanson will open Luisa’s Pizza & Pasta on June 17.

Tuesday I noticed the sign when I was walking by and poked my head in. Ms. Hanson greeted me. I explained that I recognized the name from her earlier place on Union Street and quipped that I thought she had retired from the restaurant biz. She retorted, “How old do you think I am?”, and then exposed her décolletage and considerable cleavage asking me to guess.

Anyway, she said her long-time chef is returning and she’ll be doing more of the cooking herself as well. She plans an abbreviated menu, including her gnocchi.

The room is long and narrow with about ten two-tops, plus another four or so in the front bar area with additional seating at the counter. There are a couple outdoor tables in the entryway too.

Alcohol will be wine and beer. The business card and signage promise “free delivery”.
